Pools for the unafraid of heights

What do you look for in your hotel when it comes to paying for accommodation? The most common are catering, location or services offered by the hotel, but one of the determining factors for choosing a holiday residence in summer is, without a doubt, the hotel pool. There are pools that you can not find anywhere else and that remain forever engraved in your mind and in the sensation of your body. Many residents look for much more than a refreshing bath, and these pools are designed to enjoy the views in a different way.

At the Joule Hotel in Dallas, capital of the state of Texas, we found part of the pool hanging two and a half meters out of the building on the tenth floor of the hotel. The pool has a plexiglass wall that allows you to have views of the city from a unique place, where not only swimmers can look down, but also pedestrians can see the swimmers perfectly.

At the Intercontinental Festival City Hotel, in Dubai, you have to enjoy the feeling of being doubly suspended, floating on a transparent section that extends beyond the edge of the building with views of the city skyline. The pool has a transparent curved bottom, making it easier for pedestrians walking on the street to see at all times those who swim in the pool.

The pool at the Holiday Inn Shanghai hotel is suspended 100 meters high. This original pool is on the 24th floor and the bottom is made of strengthened glass, which causes the swimmer an incredible sensation of vertigo, as well as being able to enjoy the panoramic view of Pudong. The pool is 30 meters long, 6 meters wide and 1.5 meters deep, and is the first of its kind in China.

Another example is the renowned Marina Bay Sands hotel pool, a classic in Singapore. This pool with its own name, Skypark, is 200 meters above the ground, is known as “infinity-pool”, which thousands of tourists enjoy every month.
